First Baptist Church of Jasper fed around 100 families at their most recent drive-through food pantry on Friday, April 16. Almost four pallets of food were distributed to area families in need.
The food boxes provided to the families included meat, dairy, produce and various other foods. Each box delivered will help feed a family for several days. Pastor Roger Hutto, of First Baptist, is proud to be a part of these events that are, sadly, not available as often as the community needs them.
These food distribution projects are a collaborative effort between Pastor Hutto, Debra Davis of Greater Poplar Springs Church and JT Bridges. Hutto is the coordinator of the food donations, while Davis is the organizer of the distribution system and Bridges manages the social media accounts to notify the public of the dates, times and locations that the food giveaway will be held.
