On Thursday, April 15, Suwannee County law enforcement held their annual torch run. The run began and ended at Suwannee High School, located at 1413 Pine Ave. SW, in Live Oak. Many surrounding law enforcement agencies were happy to join, including the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, Live Oak Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Agriculture and Florida Department of Corrections.
In addition to all the law enforcement agencies, there were between 80 and 100 special needs students from the Suwannee County School District.
This was an opportunity for local law enforcement to fellowship with the special needs students of Suwannee County, as well as one another, in an effort to help raise awareness for the Special Olympics.
