Kristy Brumley Valencia, 39, of Mayo, Fla., passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., following a battle with metastatic breast cancer. Kristy was born Sept. 19, 1980 in Tallahassee, Fla., and was a graduate of Lafayette High School where she was a cheerleader, played volleyball and a member of the FFA. Kristy worked as a Rural Carrier for USPS and as a Fed-Ex Express Courier. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and attended the Salem Baptist Purity Church in Salem, Fla.
Kristy was known to be a genuine and caring person who was a friend, and could cultivate a relationship instantly that knew no beginning with anyone she met. Kristy faced many challenges through life, persevering through all obstacles with faith, fortitude and grace; stopping at nothing and without complaint to support and protect her children, family and friends. She was very kind and tenderhearted towards all mankind and animals. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending it with her family and her close friends, farm life and tractors, growing and canning vegetables, horses and barrel racing, raising English Bulldogs, country music concerts, visits to the beach and rooting for the Gators. Her favorite flowers were Magnolia blossoms and Plumerias. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wayne Brumley.
She is survived by her husband of four years, Luis Valencia; a daughter, Marah Grace Land; two sons, J.B. Valencia and Mateo Valencia; her mother, Tilda Brumley; one brother, Keith Brumley, all of Mayo; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family memorial service was held with Bro. Bobby Hires and Bro. Bruce Branche officiating.
