Robert "Bob" Williams started growing plants 25 years ago as a hobby. It started as a way to pass the time and fill his days with something other than the stress of his career as a Civil Engineer.
Williams grows many different kinds of plants, including flowers such as lilys and roses, but his favorites are the food plants. He grows many different kinds of fruits and vegetables such as, blueberries, strawberries, various tomatoes and even bolivian rainbow peppers. Williams now has over 10,000 plants that are actively growing at his nursery, with many more in various stages of production.
He used to sell his plants through Facebook marketplace, but has since been suspended from selling there for posting Dogwood trees for sale -the sale of animals is prohibited by Facebook's community standards. Williams hosts a Facebook group called “Bob's Plants” and encourages anyone who wants to turn their “brown thumb green” to follow his page and visit his nursery.
Bob's Plants is located at 881 167th Pl. in Live Oak. The nursery is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
