Bradley Harrison, a fifth grade student from Riverside Elementary School in Live Oak, competed in the First Coast Spelling Bee via Zoom on Monday, March 29. Harrison took first place in the District Spelling Bee on Thursday morning, January 28, by correctly spelling the word "encore."
The whole Suwannee County School District (SCSD) was cheering Harrison on Monday morning as he got ready to take part in the competition. Employees with the SCSD even set up a spelling "bee" themed table, complete with orange juice, bumble-bee shaped cookies, yellow, white and black balloons and a sign, which read, "Go Bradley, we Bee-lieve in you!"
Harrison was able to compete in the First Coast Spelling Bee via Zoom in the School Board Meeting Room of the SCSD office. He made it to the eighth round, with his final word being "wizened."
Congratulations to Bradley Harrison on making it to the Regional Spelling Bee and to all who participated!
