Gerald Wayne Law, Sr., age 71, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Fla., following a courageous battle with leukemia.
He was born in Clearwater, Fla., living most of his life in Live Oak where he worked as a law enforcement officer with the Florida Department of Agriculture. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Jerry loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and yardwork. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Law, of Live Oak; two sons, Jay (Deon) Law and Joey (Kim) Law; one brother, Billy (Cindy) Law, all of Live Oak; five grandchildren: Jordan (Taylor) Law, Alexis (Timmy) Thomas, Drew Law, Kellan Law and Ali Law; and one great granddaughter, Addilyn Thomas.
Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 in the Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Billy Lawhon officiating.
