A Live Oak man was arrested on Monday, April 12, after deputies with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) received a call involving possible domestic violence.
According to the report filed with the SCSO, 45-year-old Daniel Carmona and three victims live together as a family unit in a Live Oak residence. One female victim told deputies Carmona pushed her down and took her phone when she attempted to call 911. A second female victim stated Carmona pushed her into a wall and also took her phone. The third victim, a male, then stated he was placed into a choke hold by Carmona, who also tore his shirt. The report also states Carmona broke one phone completely in half to prevent the three victims from calling 911.
At approximately 3:37 a.m., deputies arrested Carmona at the Econolodge Motel, located at 6811 US-129, in Live Oak. The report states a Glock 19 handgun, which had all the serial numbers filed down, was located on the motel bed. A red cigarette pack, containing two small bags of methamphetamine and a larger sandwich bag containing methamphetamine were also found.
On Monday, April 12, at approximately 4:39 a.m., Daniel Carmona was booked into the Suwannee County Jail under three counts of simple battery-domestic violence, one count felony alter identification on firearm, one count possession of a controlled substance, three counts obstruction of justice by tampering with a witness attempting to report a crime and one count possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted Florida felon. Carmona's bond is set at $38,000.
