Fairness is important, especially in journalism, which requires differing insights, in order for those seeking information to form their own opinions. In this process, we may be introduced to what seems far-fetched and unbelievable at first glance, but turns out to be factual after sifting through all the information and sources of that information. When you hear the truth, it typically makes sense. Known as critical thinking, something most were taught in school if you are over 50, yet today the opposite is instilled in students in most schools and universities, for the most part it would be labeled propaganda, the "approved narrative."
On March 30, Lester Holt, NBC Nightly News Anchor, upon receiving the Edwin Murrow Award for lifetime achievement in journalism, said "Fairness is overrated. The idea that we should all give two sides equal weight and merit is not reflective of the world we find ourselves in. The fact that the sun sets in the west, is a fact, any contrary view does not deserve our time or attention. Decisions to not give unsupportive arguments equal time are not a dereliction of journalistic responsibility or some kind of agenda, in fact just the opposite."
Fairness is sacred to those who impart truth and seek intellectual maturity. It's required of us to see all sides of a story before we make up our minds, to be able to have access to all information that big tech and mainstream media (MSM) try to suppress from us. There is much we'll determine is false after we look at all the information. The very purpose of journalism is to look at what is reported to us, but then also look elsewhere (under the hood) to see what's missing, investigate, probe, and ask questions.
In today's media, with their distorted immorality, journalism has become a political weapon of control, and even worse the withholding and censoring of information. They often take portions of remarks, rather than providing the entire context, which deliberately distorts the truth. It's inconceivable that information is deliberately destroyed to be kept from us today and from past decades. Free speech is no longer "free" folks, its deliberately hidden from us, destroyed and cancelled by the woke socialist progressives in America.
Today, besides silencing your opinions or concerns, those with power prevent us from seeing the information, they control the results of our internet searches, delete past articles, videos, and links from our view. Examples: 1) Any mention of voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election, and 2) those qualified in the medical establishment cautioning about the safety of the current Covid-19 "vaccines".
The MSM and big tech social media sites are clearly withholding truths that don't align with the party supporting them. They consistently convey the narrative and talking points of the progressives and stay aligned with their agenda in order to transform America into a socialist country. So, the position of those like Lester Holt is that journalists are to ignore the other side of a story entirely or silence them.
I encourage you to question more of what you hear/read, resist believing it's gospel. Consider turning the channel, cancelling your subscription(s), and find other reliable media that report true facts only, letting you form your own opinions. Speak up, point out inconsistencies, truth vs lies. Media sources, like Lester Holt, are fascists and it's treacherous what he and those like him are doing to our country. It will depend on how you answer this: Do you want the truth or do you prefer to hear what you what to hear?
