Thomas F. Matheny Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his home in Madison. Tommy was born Sept. 21, 1948 in Madison, Fla., to Candler C. Matheny and Shellie Herndon Matheny. Tommy was a farmer and was voted one of the top 10 young farmers in the state of Florida. He farmed for about 20 years and then went to pharmacy school at the age of 35. He graduated near the top of his class and was inducted into Rhochi Honor Society. He has served as president of Made to Order Catering Service, Inc. for the last 15 years. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Candler and Shellie Matheny; brothers, Victor C. Matheny and Mahlon Matheny and sisters, Janet Peterson and Nancy Matheny. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Oneida Sparks Matheny; children, Thomas Matheny Jr., Stephen (Danna) Matheny and Mark (Kelly) Matheny, grandchildren: Brad Pridgeon, Taylor Matheny, Steve Matheny, Alex Matheny, Maggie Matheny, Jake Matheny and Troy Matheny, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
