One of the best things about growing up in the newspaper business has been giving back to the community and keeping all the local citizens informed of what's happening in their corner of the world.
It was with that same love, desire and passion, that Greene Publishing, Inc. embarked on its new adventure a year and a half ago. For years, we had a vision of publishing our own magazine. With God's grace and a lot of determination, we put it into motion.
The Front Porch magazine made its debut with its July 2019 Summer Edition, featuring stories and spotlights about your neighbors in North Florida and South Georgia. We have continued that same extraordinary deliverance, every three months, to all of you, our subscribers and patrons of our local newspapers.
Last week, all of our newspaper subscribers in the counties of Suwannee, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison and Jefferson should have received their newest copy of The Front Porch magazine in their mailbox. We have also delivered free copies of the magazine to local Chamber of Commerce's, doctor offices, automobile service centers and other family-friendly waiting areas. Of course, we also have copies in all three (Live Oak, Madison and Monticello) newspaper offices.
The staff at Greene Publishing, Inc. and Riverbend News, has worked diligently on The Front Porch magazine concept and are happy to say we will be continuing to mail and deliver a new issue each quarter. We intend to provide all our neighbors with insight into what is happening in their small communities, as well as their neighboring communities.
In this seventh issue, you will read about your neighbors that have written children’s books, survived terrible sicknesses, survived organ transplants and have had fun participating and winning local rodeo events. But, even maybe more importantly, we want to introduce you to (or remind you of) your local home-owned businesses that are here to serve YOU! For YOU are truly what makes a home-owned business survive and prosper.
If you did not receive your copy of The Front Porch in your mailbox and would like a complimentary copy, please feel free to stop by our newspaper office to pick up a copy, or give us a call at (386) 364-4141 to find out how to subscribe.
We consider it a privilege to bring our family, friends and community the news that is happening in and around their hometowns.
Great magazines have personalities, just like old friends. So, we invite you, our friends, to come up on our front porch, sip on some sweet tea and sit a spell. We would love to share our stories with you!
