The 2020-2021 Hamilton County District Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Hamilton County Elementary Schools media center. Six students competed for the district title as well as the honor of going to the regional spelling bee in March.
The competition was fierce, with Ashton Tabor, an eighth-grader of Hamilton County High School, winning in the sixth round with the winning word being "barricade" and the word right before the championship word being "inheritance." This is Tabor's second time winning the district spelling bee. Other spelling bee participants included: Kaleb Muzzey, Lily Bunkley, DeAngelo Tisby, Joseline Garcia and Ellis Wright. Congratulations to all the district spelling bee participants and winner.
