The Suwannee River Jam, one of the south’s largest country music festivals, has been canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Suwannee River Music Park announced on Monday, July 27.
“We are saddened by this decision and know that this is disappointing news,” said Teena Peavey, general manager for the Spirit of the Suwannee River Music Park. “But, there is nothing more important than the health and well-being of our families, friends, neighbors and fellow country music fans.”
The Suwannee River Jam was originally scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2020, but was postponed until Sept. 30-Oct. 3 due to the pandemic. However, due to the continued increase of coronavirus cases in Suwannee and surrounding counties, Peavey said, “It has become clear that the 2020 Suwannee River Jam cannot be held this year.”
The next Suwannee River Jam is scheduled for April 28-May 1, 2021. Country music fans who have purchased tickets for this year’s jam is encouraged to roll them over to the 2021 dates. “To roll over your tickets and campsites you don’t have to do anything. We will automatically roll them over for you,” she said. However, if someone is wishing to request a refund, they may do so by visiting their website at www.musicliveshere.com, or by calling the park at (386) 364-1683.
The park requests that all refund requests be made by Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. “On Sept. 2, we will begin the process to move all reservations to the 2021 show dates,” Peavey noted.
“Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe during this trying time,” Peavey said. “We look forward to the day we can all come together once again in good fellowship with our family and friends, surrounded by awesome music, and rejoice in the community we all cherish.”
