Linda Music, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at Oak Ridge Assisted Living in Mayo, following a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Martin and Lydia Hauch on May 25, 1938 in Buchanan, Mich. She graduated from New Troy High School, in New Troy, Mich. and attended Grace Brethren Church in New Troy where she was saved and baptized. She started singing at a young age with her older sister Virginia and later sang with a gospel quartet during her teen years, singing on the radio station quite often in Benton Harbor, Mich. Music worked at Michigan Bell as an operater for eight years and then as a secretary for a Die Cast business for nearly 25 years. She married Ed Music in 1956, with whom she had her son, Dennis. She moved to Live Oak in 1995 to be near her son and his family. She worked as a CNA and later as a nurse caregiver for the elderly in their homes before she retired in 2008. Linda loved working in her yard and flower garden and was an avid reader and attended Corinth Baptist Church in Jasper with her son and daughter-in-law. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Hauch, in 1970 and sister Elaine White in 2016. Survivors include her son Dennis E. Music and his wife Leann; two grandsons, Allen Music, Donald Music and his wife Julie; great-grandchildren, Avery and Matt; two brothers, Donald Hauch and his wife Debbie, Allen Hauch and his wife Martha, both from Houghton Lake, Mich.; two sisters, Virginia Gorsline of Prudenville, Mich. and Lorraine Smith and her husband Dennis of Fife Lake, Mich. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
