By Joan Holmes-Radford Contributor
A newly released book by Joan Holmes-Radford, Born For This Purpose, tells the story of this author's long journey down the endless trail of grief. The author is a Christian and the story is being told from that vantage point. It is her hope that readers will be able to gain understanding of their feelings and somewhat relate to the many stages she has been through and is still going through.
Radford's son, Robert Barry Roberson, suddenly dropped dead of either a heart attack (on death certificate) or an embolism (as paramedics thought) just over three years ago. It is her hope and dream, as the story progresses into her son's adult life, that any grieving reader will find comfort and peace through his life's experiences. His story will follow her journey of grief and how God has brought her through thus far.
This story includes passages showing God's intervention in events and decisions. It tells of miracles in Barry's life. Further, this book includes the journey, step by step, whereby the Lord brought him to the exact place He wanted Barry to be, right up until God took him or allowed him to be taken. The book further details the miracles God performed in those last two days in arranging for the author and for Barry's baby sister (who lived almost 2000 miles away) to be with him and to see him the evening prior to his passing.
The hope and prayer of Radford is for other grieving parents, husbands and wives or even the offspring of one whom the Lord has taken, to find peace and comfort through this story. Above all, her hope is that they come to understand the great sovereignty and unique love of our God and Savior.
Radford will be available at a book signing scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The signing will be held at The Music Center of Live Oak, located at 897 SW Pinewood Dr.
The book is also available for purchase on Amazon, The Music Center of Live Oak and BarnesandNoble.com.
