Robert Lee “Bobby” Robinson, Jr., 90, of Mayo, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at his home. He was born in Fort White, Fla., to the late Robert Lee Robinson, Sr. and Lola Robinson Sirmans. Mr. Robinson was raised in Lake City and graduated from Columbia High School in 1952. Following graduation, Mr. Robinson went to work for the State Road Department and attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He served our country in the Florida National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Robinson worked for and retired from Southern Bell in Lake City, as well as Live Oak Pest Control in Live Oak. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Maurcine “Marcie” Tyre Robinson, in 2001; one son, Kenneth Ray Robinson; and his brother, Jack Robinson.
Survivors include his sons, Don E. and Elaine Robinson of Mayo and Rex A. and Dianna Robinson of Lake City; his grandchildren, Ryan and Jennifer Robinson of Meridian, Idaho, Amber Robinson Harris of Lake City and Stephanie and Zach Gorman of Jensen Beach, Fla.; his four greatgrandchildren, Mason, Gage, Cash and Reagan; and three sisters-inlaw, Sandra and Robert Hansford of Astor, Tommie Louise Robinson and Doris Robinson, both of Lake City.
Funeral services for Mr. Robinson were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 3 p.m. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Ebenezer Cemetery in Lake City. A time of visitation with the family was held Friday evening, Jan. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
