Getting involved in local clubs can be very beneficial for the growth and development of children. The Hamilton County 4-H Club has many students who enjoy learning, doing science experiments, volunteering in the community and participating in contests.
Brian Roelandts, 12, and John Roelandts, 9, both love being able to take part in the 4-H Club. This is their second year being involved with 4-H, and they have both decided they will continue to be part of it for many years to come. In just two years, Brian has become the vice president of his local chapter, and enjoys filling this role.
"I get to start the meetings and lead the pledge when the president can't be there," said Brian.
For his brother, John, being part of the 4-H Club is all about seeing his friends and getting out of his comfort zone, which he had to do in the recent 4-H speech contest. He has also found his niche in cooking, which he became involved in because of 4-H.
Both of the boys love competing in competitions, with their most recent being a gingerbread house building competition.
