Lafayette hosts annual Farm Judging Contest

Christian Peterson reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Friday, Nov. 8, the UF/IFAS Extension of Lafayette County played host to its annual Farm Judging Contest. Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H members from Dixie, Branford, Lafayette, Suwannee, Madison and Gilchrist Counties made the trip for the competition. Each year, the farm judging competition focuses on the evaluation of animal commodities based off of industry standards, as 4-H is focused on fostering future farmers. First place in the Senior Team Farm Judging category was Dixie FFA. The team consisted of Abby Whitehead, Briana McCoy, Gracelyn Morrow and Karly Watson. Second place went to Branford FFA.
