Bulldogs golf performs at state competition

Christian Peterson reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Monday, Nov. 4, the Suwannee High School (SHS) Bulldogs hosted the Boys 2A Region 1 golf tournament at The Country Club in Lake City. A total of 22 schools and 72 golfers made their way to the tournament to decide who would be going to the state competition. The competition went well, with the Bulldogs finishing as regional runners-up, only falling to Fleming Island. The title of regional runners-up gave the Bulldogs automatic entry into the State Championship. “This will be our second year in a row qualifying for the state championship as a team, which is a first for Suwannee,” Coach Damon Wooley said.
