A Hurricane Helene Benefit Concert will be held at Southward Preserve, located at 20947 136th St., in Live Oak, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
There will be gospel music by the Jeff Davis Family, Highway 3:16, the Hester Family, the Flowers Family and many others. At this event, there will also be hay rides, swamp buggy rides, a playground, concessions, bonfires and sunset views. Bringing a lawn chair to enjoy the concert is encouraged. Admission for the benefit will be in the form of a donation, such as cash or physical supplies (water, nonperishable food, dry goods).
All donations received will go towards relief efforts for those hit the hardest by the storm in the Steinhatchee area. David Cannon, the head pastor of Friendship Chapel Church of God, in Steinhatchee, will receive and pass out the donations received. Those interested in donating can donate through checks, cash, cash app and gift cards. Clothes, shoes, food, nonperishable foods and various other items will also be collected.
Anyone interested in donating can drop off items at the Southward Preserve, located at 20947 136th St., in Live Oak.
