Jasper teen arrested for possession of firearm

Danny Federico reporter3.riverbendnews@gmail.com A Jasper teenager was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, after officers with the Lake City Police Department (LCPD) were dispatched to Magnolia Pediatrics at approximately 11:45 a.m. in reference to three teenagers walking around the business with firearms. In a press release, LCPD stated witnesses reported one of the suspects, later identified as 19-year-old Jasper resident Timothy Lee Johns, fled the scene before officers arrived. Witnesses stated Johns abandoned a backpack that was in his possession before fleeing. The press release states a subsequent search of the backpack revealed a loaded Remington RP9 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Offic
