As I write this column, it is hard for me to believe that I will be 66 on Monday, Oct. 7, and that, before long, it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas. Time flies, and once it's gone, it's gone. I grew up and reached adulthood before we had many things now available.
We didn't have cell phones, computers, fax machines or ATMs. There were many things related to technology we didn't have, and yet the world went on. We graduated high school, some of us went to college, and later, some got jobs. We lived through the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War, saw the first man walk on the moon and witnessed Woodstock. In this area, most of our lives revolved
