The Florida Department of Health in Lafayette County (DOH- Lafayette) invites residents to attend the Nutrition Education and Wellness Series.
Dates:
• Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. This class includes information on nutrition, cooking demo and taste test.
• Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The topics of this class will include high blood pressure and stroke. After class, attendees will receive a free blood pressure cuff.
• Thursday, Oct. 3, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. The topics will include pre diabetes and diabetes. After class, attendees will receive a free blood sugar monitor.
These events will be held at the Lafayette County Public Library, located at 120 NE Crawford St., in Mayo.
The DOH Lafayette encourages all Floridians to manage healthy habits such as proper nutrition and regular physical activity. The nutrition, blood pressure, pre diabetes and diabetes self-management program has been shown to be successful in helping participants live healthier happier lives.
