Claire Bond leads Buccaneers to golf victory

Christian Peterson reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Thursday, Aug. 29, the Branford High School Buccaneers girls golf team traveled to Quail Heights Country Club in Lake City for a match against the Union County Tigers. What ensued was a complete shutdown of the Tigers. The Buccaneers shot a 218 total, while the Tigers scored much higher at 249. Sophomore Liberty Ward finished third overall with a score of 57. Close behind her was up-and-comer Charlotte Bond, a sixth grader, who finished sixth out of 13 in her first varsity match with a score of 61.
