FHP requests assistance with fatal hit-and-run investigation

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian south of Live Oak on County Road 349, just south of State Road 51. According to FHP, the pedestrian, a Live Oak man, was traveling southbound on County Road 349 at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, when he was fatally struck from behind by a vehicle also heading southbound. FHP has not released the man's name or age. FHP states the suspect's vehicle may have sustained damage to its right front. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to the crash is urged to contact law enforcement. Addition
