Louise R. Owens, 92, of Melbourne, Fla.,passed on Dec. 5, 2020 in Melbourne. She was born Nov. 28, 1928 in Ray City, Ga., to Amion William and Lola Bostick Dedge. Her family includes her sons: Donald (Mary) Owens, Kenneth (Sherrie) Owens, Roger (Cindy) Owens and Hugh Owens; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Owens on Oct. 20, 2001.
A homemaker, she became an advanced life support emergency medical volunteer in 1968 with the Harbor City Volunteer Ambulance Squad, serving as president and rising to Squad Commander with state certifications in EMT and Paramedic specialties, saving countless lives as a 27-year volunteer with HCVAS until 1995. A celebration of her life was held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 W.
