This week, we near the end of our discussion of how the current location of the Suwannee County Courthouse came to be. Compared to how Live Oak became the county seat and how the Parshley site became the location of the courthouse, the construction of the current Suwannee County Courthouse went by far more smoothly.
On Nov. 3, 1903, the Board of County Commissioners ordered that a new courthouse be built to replace the one constructed 30 years before, "which has outlived its usefulness," according to the minutes of the meeting.
