Branford community mourns loss of local officer

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver, later identified as Barry "Ryan" Young, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident, which involved a white Ford F-250 and a Nissan pickup truck.  The incident occurred at the intersection of County Road 49 and 216th Street at 3:05 p.m. and according to the report, a 57-year-old woman from Palm Coast, Fla., was driving west on 216th Street in a Ford F-250 and approached the intersection, which is controlled by a stop sign.
