Hurricane Debby's rampage caught many people by surprise. The rainfall was almost unprecedented, and many people who were not in a flood zone still found themselves surrounded by water. The Bilodeau family in McAlpin is one of those families.
During Debby, the Bilodeau family's house was flooded. It was destroyed along with all of their belongings. Sadly, the family did not have flood insurance, due to their property not being designated as a flood zone. However, a benefit dinner has been organized to help the family pay off their home and get a brand new start. The dinner will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, starting at 6 p.m. It will be hosted in the McAlpin Community Club, located at 9981 170th Terr. The dinner will last until 8 p.m., and offers chicken and rice, green beans, dinner rolls and a brownie. It only costs $10 a plate! All proceeds will be donated to the Bilodeau family.
The family is in need of many things, as all their belongings are gone. However, clothes are a large priority. They are looking for 12 to 18 month clothing, size 3 to 4 shoes, size 4 diapers with the Parent's Choice or Huggies brand, 4T to 5T shorts and pants, 5T shirts, size 10 shoes, 4T and 5T Pullups, 36/30 pants and shorts, size large gym shorts, large/XL shirts, size 33/30 jeans, size large shirts, size 2XL shirts and tights and size 9 to10 shoes.
For those who are unable to attend the dinner there are other ways to donate. Head to gofundme.com and search “Aid The Bilodeaus' Recovery from Flood Damage,” or CashApp Kara Bilodeau at $KaraBilodeau.
