12-year-old Hamilton resident takes world championship

In what might be the most underground competition in the world, the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) hosted the Youth and Teen World Championships from Sunday, July 21, through Saturday, July 27, in Perry, Ga.
In her first time competing, 12-year-old Hamilton County resident Addi Belle Godwin walked away as a champion. The NBHA was founded in 1992 and quickly became recognized around the world as the leader in barrel racing. In a short few decades, the organization garnered 20,000 members across five continents.
The NBHA website states, “The NBHA sanctions over 3,000 district shows per year, sponsors over 44 state show
