This week, we will continue our discussion of Live Oak's selection as the county seat and the events that led to today's location of the Suwannee County Courthouse. We left off last week with a second legal vote in 1869, in which Live Oak bested Houston to become the new county seat. However, much more drama remained to unfold before things finally settled down.
