I am Sharon Jordan and I am honored to have served as Suwannee County Tax Collector for the past 16 years. Today, I am asking for your vote. My family has lived here my entire life, and I love our small town culture. I am married to David Jordan, we have two daughters, Jenna Lay and Brittany Jordan. We are members of First Baptist Church Live Oak. We are both active members of the community. I am committed to maintaining the most efficient, positive, and caring environment for all of our customers. We have built a cohesive team who works well together helping the people of our county. My experience has given me a comprehensive knowledge to lead our team to offer excellent service to all who enter. Throughout the years, I have served on numerous committees and Boards for various associations and State agencies.
Some of the many accomplishments during my tenure include.
• Increased personnel to include a receptionist to ensure your phone call is always answered by a live person.
• Extend the hours at the Live Oak and Branford offices
• Opened an additional office in Dowling Park.
• Advanced our offices by providing concealed weapon license application services, birth certificates, HAZMAT endorsed CDL's.
• Initiated the acceptance of e-checks as an alternative form of payment for online tax payments. Taxpayers can pay in person, online, by mail, or use our drop box.
• Restructured the website making it mobile friendly and ADA compliant.
• Installed a queuing kiosk to better manage customer flow.
• Recently invested in a new Robust Tax Software System, saving taxpayers almost $20,000.
My immediate future goals include the acquisition of a larger office to serve the citizens of Suwannee County and accommodate our lobby traffic. Our space is not adequate as can be seen upon entry, however, I have and will continue to engage in discussions with leaders who have the power to solve these problems. Now that Suwannee County is growing exponentially, these discussions have become more important to offer more space for our customers.
My personal goals have been and will continue to be
• Display accountability and accuracy
• Expanding services as needed
• Engaging highly trained staff
• Capitalizing on advanced technology.
• Leading my team to provide efficient and competent personalized service_to our citizens.
I am personally asking for your consideration in voting for me as Tax Collector on Election Day. August 20th or early voting August 10th-17th.
Thank you for your previous support and for the opportunity to continue serving as your Suwannee County Tax Collector. With more than 25,000 voters in Suwannee County, and currently serving as your Tax Collector, I will regretfully not be able to visit everyone. I have and will always be available to the public and continue to have an open door policy. Please email or call me with all questions and concerns. dnj60@windstream.net or 386.362.8616.
Respectfully, Sharon Jordan
