With the Primary Election growing nearer, voters throughout the tri-county area are urged to keep the following dates in mind.
The first batch of Vote-by-Mail ballots were mailed on Thursday, July 19. The deadline for voter registration or party affiliation changes followed on Monday, July 22.
The last day to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot to be mailed to your address is Thursday, Aug. 8.
Early voting officially opens on Saturday, Aug. 10, and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 17. Early voting will be held at the following locations:
• Lafayette County: Mayo Community Center (150 NW Community Cir.) from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
• Hamilton County: Hamilton County Supervisor of Elections Office (1153 US 41 NW, Suite 1, in Jasper) from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
• Suwannee County: Jo Kennon Public Library (10655 Dowling Park Dr.); Judicial Annex (218 Parshely St., in Live Oak); and Robert Leonard Public Library (703 NW Suwannee Ave., in Branford) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 20, all voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A photo ID with a signature is required to vote.
Voters are encouraged to visit their local Supervisor of Elections website to find their voting precinct, request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, or view their sample ballot. Lafayette County voters should visit www.lafayettevotes.net; Hamilton County voters should visit www.hamiltonvotesfl.gov; and Suwannee County voters should visit www.suwanneevotes.com.
Please note that all previous Vote-by-Mail requests in Florida expired on Dec. 22, 2022. Voters who haven't re-registered for a Vote-by-Mail ballot since then should get in touch with their local Supervisor of Elections office.
