SCSO Emergency Management holds stakeholders’ meeting for 2024 hurricane season

On the morning of Wednesday, June 5, the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Division of Emergency Management (EM) held its annual stakeholders meeting in order to discuss the 2024 hurricane season and their plans moving forward as this year’s season is expected to be very active.
To begin the meeting, SCSO Chief Williams opened up in prayer before Sheriff Sam St. John gave a “thank-you” to the Suwannee community and EM for their response to last year’s Hurricane Idalia. Then, SCSO EM Director Chris Volz spoke about what they learned from Idalia, how to improve readiness for the upcoming hurricane season and how to move forwa
