The Lafayette County Farm Bureau hosted a luncheon for its Farm-City Week event on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. The event was held at the Mayo Farm Bureau office, located at 874 E Main Street and consisted of a buffet style meal between both Farm Bureau and the Mayo Rotary Club. Around 12:30 p.m., Hannah Love, the Farm Bureau District Agent, opened the event by reading an introductory poem on the importance of farmers and ranchers. After, a proclamation was signed by Mayor Wayne Hamlin and presented to Rod Land, the Lafayette County Farm Bureau President, officially declaring the week Farm-City Week. The luncheon ended with a final award presented to Chris Vann, a Lafayette County agricultural agent for the UF/IFAS, for his hard work and dedication to the bureau.
