Mrs. Naoko Florence Tanguay, age 88, from Jasper, Fla, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020. She was born in Osaka, Japan, on June 11, 1932.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Jasper, Fla. She loved to cook and feed everyone who was around her. She loved people and was very family-oriented. She was full of life and energy and always had a smile on her face. She loved keeping up with family and friends on Facebook, sharing photos, comments and recipes. She also communicated regularly with her family in Japan via video chat. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Hamilton County School System in Jasper, Fla., where she worked in food service. Before moving to Florida, she worked at Bonny Eagle High School in Standish, Maine and Sebago Mock in Westbrook, Maine, for many years. Through the school systems, she gained an extended family of faculty, staff and students who still kept in touch with her regularly. She loved being around everyone, making them laugh and smile.
Naoko was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Yoshiteru, from Japan. She is survived by her sister, Masako from Japan; her husband, Robert Tanguay (Bob); two sons, Robert (Cathy) Tanguay, Jr. of Jasper, Fla., James V. Tanguay,
(Sharon) of Madison, Fla., one daughter, Naomi Silver (John) of Lake Park, Ga.; seven grandchildren: Pamela Brown, Jason Tanguay, Robert Tanguay III, Tammy Brown, Scott Tanguay, Eva Clark and Tiffany Silver; 10 great-grandchildren: Marissa Sargent, Michael Tanguay, Joshua Richardson, Nellie Tanguay, C. J. Sargent, Thomas Brown, Kaylee Tanguay, Noah McKee, Lydia McKee and Liam McKee; and one great-great-grandchild, Elijah.
A memorial service was held Saturday, November 28, at Beggs Chapel in Madison, Fla., at l p.m.
