Get ready for the Smile Like Lainey Family Fun Day! On Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Live Oak Coliseum parking lot, located at 1302 11th St. SW, will transform into a hub of activities for all ages. The event will include live entertainment from local artists, vendors and food trucks, a community-wide yard sale, face-painting, a silent auction and other fun family activities.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their prized vehicles in the Different Dimensions Car Show, which is open to all sorts of vehicles. If it has a motor, bring it! To participate, text Lynn Deas Sweat at (386) 365-4774 with your name, contact information, city or town of residence, and the vehicle's year, make and model. There is a non-refundable $20 fee per vehicle, payable via Cash App at $5Loaves2FishOutreach with the memo: "Lainey's Car Reg."
Vendors interested in setting up at the event can do so by purchasing a 10-foot by 10-foot tent area for a non-refundable fee of $35. Vendors may purchase more than one tent area. Payment can be made via Cash App at $5Loaves2FishOutreach with the memo: "Lainey's Tent." Once payment is made, vendors should contact Sweat with their name, contact information, city or town of residence, and vendor type.
Donations for the silent auction are welcome and can be made by contacting Sweat. Additionally, donations can be made directly to Lainey Holtzclaw's family through Cash App at $5Loaves2FishOutreach with the memo: "Lainey's Donation."
Lainey, the infant daughter of Branford residents Darbi and Markell Holtzclaw, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic mutation called THG1L. However, despite the challenges she's faced, Lainey continues to be a beaming light of joy, spreading her infectious smile wherever she goes.
Be sure not to miss out on the upcoming family fun day, which aims to support "Little Lainey's" journey. To keep up with the Holtzclaws, follow "Lainey's Journey" on Facebook.
