Lake City man caught with allegedly stolen vehicle

Christian Peterson reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Monday, May 13, according to the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) report, Deputy Cedrick Henderson was patrolling when he noticed a 2014 BMW sedan. The car had a license plate attached that did not belong to the vehicle. Henderson stopped the vehicle and confronted the driver, 43-year-old Daniel Joseph Pope from Lake City. Pope informed Henderson that he did not have a valid driver’s license. As Henderson placed Pope under arrest, he found a cigarette pack that Pope was holding. He searched the pack and discovered a small amount of marijuana and methamphetamine. However, the story didn't end there, as Henderson searched the
