Live Oak Fire Department hosts successful Open House

The Live Oak Fire Department held an Open House on Saturday, May 11, to educate the community about firefighters' daily activities. Kids and adults alike were treated to fire truck and station tours, all the while receiving fire safety tips. In addition, the department had plenty of gear on display, allowing visitors of all ages to see what kinds of equipment the firefighters use on a daily basis. Youth had the chance to test their skill at putting out fires with one of the department's unique experiences -- a wooden stand-up display designed to look like the front of a home, complete with windows with painted flames.
