American Legion Unity Riders stop in McAlpin

Danny Federico  reporter3.riverbendnews@gmail.com  Between Monday, April 22 and Friday, April 26, the Florida American Legion Riders joined forces for the annual Unity Ride—an event aimed at raising awareness for Veteran suicide. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, in 2021, an average of 17.5 Veterans committed suicide each day. In an effort to bring this statistic to light, American Legion members across the state revved up their motorcycles and hit the road.  The Western Route kicked off in Pensacola on Monday, April 22, initiating a 235-mile ride to Panama City.
