Suwannee Fire Rescue responds to McAlpin plane crash

First responders with Suwannee Fire Rescue responded to a single engine airplane crash that occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. The accident occurred at the Little River Airstrip in McAlpin, where firefighters found the aircraft – a 1957 Beechcraft 35 Bonanza – fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Roughly 500 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire, along with one jug of foam. The incident resulted in an estimated property loss of $53,900. Suwannee Fire Rescue reported the pilot escaped without any injuries.
